The idea for One Percent Broker came in 1999 when an acquaintance asked that I represent him on the purchase of a home he found on the internet. I told him I would do it for a 1% commission.

The house was priced above $700,000 and there were multiple offers, but his anticipated $14,000 rebate enabled him to outbid the next highest bidder and still feel as though he wasn't overpaying. A light bulb went off in my head.

The internet has transformed the real estate business forever. While there will always be people who want to use a "full service broker," there are many buyers and sellers in the marketplace who are willing to do some of the leg work in order to save several thousand dollars.

During our ten years representing buyers and sellers all over California, our overriding intention has always been to offer as much value and personal service as possible. A streamlined business model allows us to keep overhead costs low and thus offer a substantial rebate, while at the same time focus on representing clients without distraction.

As the term "discount" real estate broker becomes more common, our goal is for clients to conclude that it is only the savings we offer which puts us in this specific category and not our level of service. The purchase or sale of a home is not a time to cut corners and we are committed to representing each client in a detail oriented and distinguished manner.
